Location

Our day is split in two phases — a ceremony and a celebration.
Therefore, the location is split in two places as well.

Old Merchant's House: Ceremony @ Danish Island Weddings
You will find the us at the heart of Ærø's old town at Old Merchant's House hosted by Danish Island Weddings team. DIW team will direct you to the ceremony room and answer any questions you might have.

Søbygård: Dinner & Celebration
We've been told a Duke lived here at some point. We'll be gathering at Søbygård hall for a sitdown dinner and celebration later on. You're welcome to come a little early and stay late. Søbygård lawn offers various activities for both adults and children — be it pretend sword fights or other outdoor games. Depending on the weather, we recommend taking a moment to relax here and enjoy the waterside view.

Day Plan

Since we start around noon, we recommend having a small breakfast at numerous cafés in the neighborhood.

Following are some options:

1. Kefs café (2 minutes walk)

2. Café at Old Merchant's Court (directly downstairs from the wedding location)

3. På Torvet (restaurant across the street from wedding location).

12:00: Old Merchant House opens for ceremony
The guests are welcome at this moment and the  DIW team will be there to welcome you.

12:30: Gates Close
Please try to arrive before 12:30 so that ceremony can begin in time. It takes the organizers time to gather everyone and prepare.

12:45: Wedding ceremony begins

During this time, the bride and groom will arrive, and the officiant will begin the wedding process.

13:00: Reception, Snacks, Drinks, Pictures

We are married! Let's celebrate! There are going to be drinks and snacks for us all to celebrate and enjoy the day.
At this point, we would appreciate if you could join us for some pictures. The Danish Island Weddings team will direct you to the right spots and depending on the weather, we will either take picttures with our guests outside or inside the cremony room.

We can continue the celebration out in the backyard, where there is a Whiskey bar that you're welcome to get to know your fellow guests at before our next event.

You're invited to join us on an adventure and explore the island and take pictures. Or you can go back to your rooms, get changed for bigger celebrations, or get a little break, or a bit of all of that.

~14:00: Break & Exploration
We understand that some of our guests are coming with children. So now might be a time to take a small break and look after the little ones. We want to spend as much time as we can with you later for the dinner and party, so some rest mighg be in order.
Alternatively, Ærø has a beautiful old town and we highly  recommend walking around and perhaps getting some ice-cream!

16:00: Welcome @ Søbygård
We'll be waiting for you at Søbygård banqet hall. There are two parking spots nearby for easy access.
Right outside the hall you will find an outdoor area for games and entertainment with some benches to sit on. Weather permitting, you're welcome to enjoy the outdoors. There are a few games and activities for children and adults alike.
Inside, there will be a bar, a couple games, plenty of seating, and a photo booth to capture the memories! :)

We will be serving you a welcome drink and the bar will remain open until we sit down for dinner.

17:00: Dinner @ Søbygård

We bet it's been a busy day! Let's all sit down, have a lovely meal (we are offering vegan & vegetarian friendly meals), and some drinks.

Feel free to prepare a speech! ;) And if you do, let the DJ know and he will slip you in at the right moment.

Remaining Day

There's going to be music, drinks, and games. The DJ has promised that there won't be a dull moment.
Feel free to take pictures, play games, or make presentations — we believe someone is planning something. ;)
We understand some of our guests might have their own ideas for games as well, so this would be the time.

Bonus!

We'll be meeting Friday evening at Bang's Mad & Vinbar for dinner. If you're in town and looking for somewhere to eat, do let the bride and/or groom know so we make a reservation for you. Alternatively, you're welcome to call the restaurant and make a reservation for yourself. A reservation is recommended since it's high season in Ærøskøbing.
